The work of communal harmony is going in full swing and expanding its wings in rural areas. We hope in future more and more youths will join this campaign. This is crucial not only for SAMAR but also for our society. This year we have opened two libraries in two different villages of Bihar. More such libraries will be opened in the coming year.
In 2021-2022, Our team worked tirelessly during the second wave of the Covid -19. We provided oxygen cylinders and necessary medicines. We targeted slum dwellers and other urban poor people who were in distress at that time. On the other hand, we are now expanding our work in rural areas. In 2020-2021, as the pandemic continues, the voluntary group helps the needy people especially urban poor and migrants labourers. Some of our team members took initiative in distributing food package, medicines among poor. This year, SAMAR published its long-awaited research work – SLUMS of PATNA. In 2019-2020, as the entire world was facing a deadly pandemic called Covid-19. Therefore SAMAR Trust and other such organisations had to limit their works in the field. Even then, Samar continued its work of voluntary teaching in the slums of Patna albeit in a limited mode. Also we realized the alarming situation created by pandemic all over India. Hence Samar team along with its strong voluntary group helps the needy people especially urban poor and migrants labourers. In 2018-2019, Our non – formal education programme in slums is in full swing. Since 2017, we have deepened our programme and made it more professional and effective for children of slum dwellers in Patna. In 2017-2018, we transformed our work of informal education in slums into systematic professional work. The annual activity calendar has been made. Professional people are working on the project to make it a success. SAMAR also carried a tedious relief work for affected masses in North Bihar who got devastated in floods.
